I have just installed NT, + Service pack 2, from the Developer Platform CD's. Two problems: 1) I am given a choice of Win 3.1 NT or DOS when I boot. If I select DOS, I get lots of disk activity, and a black screen. As Visual C++ 1.5 tells me I need to install from Win 3.1, and not NT, I need to get to Windows. How do I do it? 2) I want to install support for a QIC tape drive. The QIC117.sy_ file can't be decomp'ed using decomp.exe. How do I decompress it, without creating a zillion 3 1/2" floppies? My system is a Zeos 486/66, 16 Meg RAM, Diamond Viper with latest NT drivers, IDE boot drive, Adaptec 1542 SCSI controller with 1.6 G DEC drive and NEC tripple spin CD-ROM. I have a Cardinal Sound Card, which NT doesn't seem to support too well. I am checking with the vendor on that. Thanks. John Read action !
