You know anything re: Novell Personal? I hear it's the new thing past nw lite.
I finally got the &%#@#@!! network cards to work, but havn't rendered anything
on them yet. It was really an expitiment, as the sw was free. My friend Len,
the only other registered 3ds user in Java, has 5 machines going on WFW so I
thought I'd take a crack at it. If it don't get any easier, I'll have to go to
Singapore and get Lantastic
What's the scoop on the Targa 2000?

I've heard netware personal is riddled with bugs. Someone posted their
tribulations on the forum, and it didn't sound too fun.
Lantastic is great, but there is a slight read-only attribute problem with it,
and I don't know if 6.0 has that fixed. What happens is that heavy multiple
file requests will be denied, and all but one machine will fail. Only
Lantastic seems to have that problem. I assign read-only attributes to all
files ready to go out on a VP composite, and if I'm rendering regular .prjs,
I'll start the slaves in a staggered fashion.
As far as the Targa 2000 goes, I think it'll depend on what you're apppication
is. It can do some neat stuff, but it's square pixel, and seem aimed at
multimedia more than video, so I haven't looked into it. I'm getting a Matrox
MAX on monday.

I'm looking forward to a Side by Side comparison between the quality and
capabilities of the PAR Verses the MAX…With the difference in Price it will
be interesting to say the least! <g>
It's kind of funny because I was just cleaning out my old Data Bases and came
accross my conversations regarding the "purported" differences between the two
units….After So many Regulars had reported that they were happy with the PAR
and Don Landis had a lot to do with this too…I deceided that there would
indeed be a bigger difference in the market for the two….
I beleive Don or maybe it was one of the other "regulars" mentioned that the
PAR would be doing 80% of the 3DS business and the MAX would probably be doing
about 20% because not everyone would require the so called Higher
output….However you may find the units are closer together in Quality which
is not to say there may be other differences….

By the Way I'm currently looking to drum up a little PAR as well as MAX
Business….Uh…You couldn't sort of mention the dealership in
passing….OK!..OK! Geezzz, Can't Blame a Guy for Trying. <g>
