#Trees and related
10 messages in this thread
Hi.
I'm going to cooperate on a new park development project. To help in this
development I'll be using 3D Studio to pick on the topographic grid from
AutoCAD r12 and "plant" several trees, bushes and flowers. Also two swimming
pools and several small lakes. I think there are IPAS routines to "plant" trees
( a la Accurender ) and I'm interested in these routines. Where can I find (
buy ) them, and which is the best and most complete.
Also if there are any good routines for swimming pools and lakes I'm
interested.
Thanks in advance

I don't know all that's out there, but here are a couple of suggestions:
The Silicon Garden, in addition to generating plants and trees, contains an
IPAS utility called "Place" for placing objects such as trees and shrubs on
irregular surfaces.
The new "Scatter" IPAS on Disk #6 of the Yost IPAS Boutique lets you generate
arrays of specific objects using an existing surface to specify distribution.
It generates the array randomly with some control. For example, you can take a
single tree and generated it over a landscape with random placement, rotation
and scale to create the effect of many different trees.
Both routines are available in the Yost IPAS Boutique. If you sent in the card
that comes with 3D Studio, you should have received the latest catalog last
week.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I forgot to mention that all the objects I have to place can't be randomly
distributed. It's an landscape built on very precise terms.
By the way. I'm in Portugal, and here the info is very scarse, and even to
upgrade it's a big mess ( longest delays, etc )
Can I test drive Silicon Gardens, or get a full description of it? And is it
possible to buy it via Compuserve or Visa Card. What's the media ( favourite is
CD(CD's)).
Any other libs or routines around?
Thanks
Luis Vale
