C= stopped making A2000s when? Yet, SH recently sold its last new A2000
(still a hot item among Toasterites). The prospect of further new 2000
stock is dim, though used 2000s may come on the market as time passes.
A3000s are scarce as hens' teeth (I think Creative Computers scarfed all
those up). SH still sells A4000s but I'm not sure how supply is holding
up. I would expect to see the A1200 pipeline renewed, since apparently
there are some stocks of new ones still in warehouses or on the slow boat
from the Orient. No bargains right now, that's for sure, unless you count
the suggested retail price of an A1200, which is in itself pretty much of
a bargain, as I see it. For the cost of a third-party 24-bit card like a
Retina, you can have an entire AGA computer. Not bad.
FYI, Commodore long ago 'stopped' making A2000's but early this year it brought
up the line apparently to make a few hundred or a few thousand. MegageM
(that's me) had brand new A2000's available from our authorized Amiga
distributors earlier this year at good prices. Brand new ones. MegageM also
has A4000's available on a continuing basis from our distributors. As for
A4000T, still never have been available from Amiga distributors to their
dealers. A1200's trickle in a few here and a few there. Some dealers with big
ads in Amiga world are NOT handling the A1200 shortage in a kosher way. Be
CAREFUL if you think you can get an A1200 from one of the big advertisers. I
personally have had two experiences with big advertisers which were outright
dishonest. MegageM absolutely will not sell what we cannot deliver. Right now
we can deliver A4000/LC030/4mbram/120hd and A4000/040/6mbram/213HD. I hope we
will continue to be able to deliver A4000. there were some major purchases of
A4000s by distributors PRIOR to CBM liquidation disasters, so there is a
pipeline. A1200's have been scarcer than hen's teeth since end of December 93.
I sure HOPE there's some big stocks of 'em in some warehouse somewhere, but I
doubt it. Some folks have been jacking up the prices on A1200 or jerking
customers around to force them to buy 'em with big hard drives, etc. Be sure
you are dealing with an outfit you have confidence in. MegageM is trying very
hard to play this difficult situation very straight with all customers.
I got an E-mail note asking if MegageM is safe enough to do buisiness
with. I thought it best that I answer here. I've met Daniel, he runs a
first class, honest and fair buisiness. You'll have no trouble there.

I'll second that.
I did get an A1200 about two weeks after ordering one this month, but I
count myself extremely lucky. I am a very good customer of the particular
mail order shop in question, so that may have helped.
BTW, from what I've seen MegageM puts out some very cool products. I don't
happen to need any of them for my work, unfortunately, but if I ever get
enough scratch together just to play around, I'll end up being your
customer, too.

Yeah, the 1200 is a bargain, all right, but I need a machine that can hold
Bridgeboards etc. (Seen any A4000Ts around?)

If you are desperate, call (403) 448-0632 you will get A1 computers (in
Edmonton AB) who I know can lay thier hands on some 4000T's. Ask to speak
to Helene..
