Mario: All you need is your Internet users address. Start with >INTERNET:

Mario: I do not have an Amiga 1000 myself. Another daughter in California get
it from her brother, never used it, and now wants to send Email on it. I'm
trying to learn how she can do it. So far I've learned that a serial cable is
needed between the Amiga & the modem of there will be voltage trouble. If I
learn more I'll let you know
Also: here's a note I got from SYSOP Betty Clay who seems to know about these
things.
AutoPilot is wonderful for CIS – but it requires OS2.04 or later. Without
a special board that can hold the OS chip, it won't run on the A1000. I'm
sorry about that. We used to have a similar, but less powerful, program
that ran under OS 1.3 and even earlier, but the author stopped supporting
it, and CIS changes made it undependable, so it had to be withdrawn. I
wish we had one to offer you.

About your A1000: You'll have to load your Kickstart from disk, don't you?
Maybe it's possible to read the kick 2.0 off a 2.0 kick-eprom and put it on a
disk? (am I being too simple now?). I have a very technical Amiga-freak- friend
with an eprom-programmer and he says it's possible to copy a kickstart-ROM onto
an Eprom, why not try copying it to disk? And then maybe it's possible to put a
kick-ROM in to an A1000? I will ask! Good luck,

The A1000 WCS only has 256k. 2.0 is 512k, so you can't make an A1000
kickstart disk for 2.0. You have to buy something like the DKB ROM
switcher (I think they have an A1000 specific version) which replaces the
WCS.

Using the ROM-switcher: If I get this correct you will get rid of the
Kick-booting this way also? Doesn't that give you more RAM to spend? ( _and_
more time <g>)

More time, but no more RAM. Most of these solutions toss the 256k WCS.

I think there is a 3rd step. The A1000 only allocated 256k for kickstart,
while 2.0 and higher requires 512k (I believe). There is a program out,
which supposedly allocated 512k of RAM (from your fast reserves though)
and loads KS2.0 there. I can't recall the name off hand tho.
