I just purchased a GVP 1291 SCSI unit to add to my 1230+ , I am having a
problem with the unit. When installed the 1200 begins to boot from the IDE
internal drive ( the drive light flickers for a second ) then the system
freezes up. Is the 1291 factory set to try and autoboot a SCSI drive ?
What are the J1 and J2 jumpers ( both shorted as delivered ) responsible
for ? Your manual makes no mention of the jumpers or hardware select for
autoboot. With the SCSI board removed the system boots and performs
normally. Thanks for your assistance with this problem.
Gary,
Try removing the jumpers on both J1 & J2, thats what I had to do when i
got my A1291 board. One of the Jumpers is for testing purposes only and I
forget what the other one is for. Mine is booting from the scsi drive.
