Jimmy, For what it is worth I am having the same problems with Carmen/Texel DM-3024/Pro Audio 16. I have everything loaded low still (ie drivers for Pro Audio, drivers for CD-ROM hooked up to PAS 16, and MSCDEX) and have all the symptons you outlined. My sense from reading Media Vision forum is that Carmen is tempermental with the PAS 16. I too get sound with no problem. As you've probably guessed I haven't figured out any solution yet. But its just a game and very cute at that so we will suffer with it the way it is. But my main point is that loading stuff high isn't the problem (I use EMM386). Linda

well when I load it low, I haven't had the problems, at least if they are there they are very infrequent. thanks.

Jimmy (and others) After hours of experimenting, I found that having ANY memory manager at all would lead to a lockup (this includes the EMM/XMS lending of the SuperPck disk cache). When I changed to a CONFIG.SYS that only loaded the sound & scsi driver (and files & buffers), and an AUTOEXEC.BAT that only loaded MSCDEX and my mouse driver (and path & prompt) I didn't get any lockups. With a memory manager, it seemed to be very sensitive to where in memory it loaded, since I locked up almost immediately when I started with >600k free, but could play for 10 minutes or so if I had ~570k free. [ This is with PAS-16 Multimedia upgrade (NEC84). ] – Gary.
