Anyone here live in Quebec? Supposedly, in last Sunday's edition of "Le Soleil" there was an article that stated Commodore has been bought by a international consortium headed by Samsung, it is noticely formed of Sony, Hewlett Packard, Philipps and Time Warner and that "The megatransaction details will be announced in the next few days." If the article actual does exist I think the author has been spending far too much time reading the usenet dribble, but, I'm curious if the article did actually see print. -sja

I delivered the "Le Soleil" as a newspaper boy for 10 years. I'm not presently in Quebec at the moment and won't be for another two months, but I can have a friend check out the article. Was this from sunday's paper on the 15th? HOw did you hear about the article?

If the article did exist, it didn't find its way into any other papers as far as I can tell. If a story is true, it usually makes it into everyone elses paper the next day. Mal de Montreal (Time for French lessons, je pense)

The story exists but the author jumped the gun. He's definitely been reading too many rumours: Samsung's not a definite. -John M. Vreeland in Virginia
