I'm looking for a full-screen FLI player that will allow me to have VCR style contre controls appear on the screen during the FII playback. These controls should be mouseable. Is there such a player? Is it even possible for this type of player to exist? Thanks for any help.

Roger: That's exactly what I'm doing with NIC. To program the interactivity or so called "authoring" I have developed a visual authoring tool. This allows you to define hotspots (VCR controls, etc.) and assign flics or events to each hotspot. At this time these are proprietary tools and are not commercialy available. However, I will consider licensing them to other developers on a case-by-case basis as long as there is no direct conflict of interest in publishing titles. Send me information about your project and what you are trying to do. Sincerely, Reza D. New Age Interactive

I have published a collection of animations for Foot Specialists which is called DR ANIMATOR. At present time, it is a menu-driven collection of FLI files depicting various types of Foot surgeries to be used in patient education. It is keyboard controled at present for PAUSING and STOPPING playback. (I am using the authoring program INSTANT REPLAY). I want to change the FLI interactivity from keyboard to mouse (or even touch screen). Pleas give me more information about your program and it's availability. You may either post a message for me here or may reach me by voice phone most days at 216-233-5615. Looking forward to hearing from you. Roger.

Roger: I have a flic compressor, a real-time player and an authoring tool. If your application can tolerate a little bit of visual loss, the compressed flics will be a lot more efficient than uncompressed flics. Check out NEWAGE.ZIP in the utilities library. I think these tools will be perfent for your application. Sincerely, Reza D. New Age Interactive

Hi Roger Yes !! There is a little program from Krister Jansson AutoDESK Sweden, it's called "Interact" and will do what you are asking for – and more. If you can't find it at any adesk forum, give me a yell. Walter

I did download that program but am having trouble getting it to PAUSE the FLI during playback and then continue. It is a neat little program and as I say, I had no trouble creating a STOP button to display on the screen during playback and have it work fine but I can't figure-out how to get a PAUSE button to work. Any suggestions?
