#CD ROM & NDW 2.0

David,
Thanks for the advice, fortunatly I triple checked my AUTOEXEC.BAT
file and have no references to E:\. I guess I'll just have to keep
digging.
Thanks again,
Paul…
You need to look in quite a few more place than their. Use the NDW SysInfo
to bring up the system files (CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, SYSTEM.INI,
WIN.INI, and NDW.INI) and examine them. Windows also has a program called
SYSEDIT.EXE that will load the first four files and allow you to edit them.
If that does not yield anything, then it is time to hunt down the rest of
the .ini files and see what is in them…Good Luck!
Paul,
Try going to you where NDW is intalled and copy the FRAME.DAT file to
something else, then starting windows again. (just a hunch).

What does FRAME.DAT do?

Steve,
Among other things (of which I don't exactly know), it stores which drive
window(s) is open when the configuration is saved so that when NDW is
loaded again the same drive widnow(s) are open again. What I suspect is
that if the drive window for the CD-ROM is open, NDW will try to open a
window for it and read the DIR off the CD-ROM.
