Raymond, How does a 486 compare to an A1200? And how does Windows compare to Workbench? I would like to buy your A1200, 80 mb hard disk, systems disks, mouse, powersupply, manuals, Final Copy I, Deluxe Paint IV AGA, and 1080 monitor for $575 plus shipping. Also I would like to buy the modem for $20.I can't put a check in the mail to you, however, without a guarantee that the goods will be delivered in working order. I suggest you consider sending the equipment to me COD by UPS ground (3 days +/-, $15 +/-) or UPS ground guaranteed (3 days, $42 +/-), your choice. I will then give the UPS carrier a check for $595 plus UPS shipping. Dave

Dave, Glad you decided to buy! *How does 486/windows compare to A1200/Workbench? Well, the 486 is a much more powerful processor than the 68020 in the A1200 but from the standpoint of performance of my 33 Mhz 486SX in Windows vs the A1200 in Workbench, it's about the same in regard to dragging and opening/closing windows, launching programs etc., . I like the user friendliness of Workbench much better than Windows which is kind of sterile and kludgey feeling (although packed with goodies). The whole business of needing to play with interrupts, DMA channels and address ports in order to get some programs to run is a drag also. In order to get as nice a display as the PC in high resolution though, a multisync monitor or a careful selection of screen colors is necessary. * I have no problem sending the items COD. From your point of view though I don't know if UPS will let you check out the items before wanting your payment I can put everything in the mail Monday and will do so barring any further reply from you. My number is 703-369-4391 if you have to contact me by phone but I will check the forums at least this evening and tomorrow evening for any reply from you. * I need your shipping address Hope you enjoy your purchase and let me know if you have any problems/questions.
