I just downloaded a demo of GoldED. Its a great editor. What strikes me the
most is its speed. Scrolling is very fast. I opened it on my 256 color
workbench (I have A1200 with SVGA monitor) in Productivity mode and what I
expected to see was a very sluggish performence. To my suprprise the scrolling
was very fast even though I was using a 31 khz video mode. My question is
simple. If GoldED is able to achieve such speed in 256 colors how come my
warkbench GUI is so slow? Pulling downd a menu or opening and moving a window
in 256 colors in NonFlicker screen is rediculously slow on AGA machines. I
imagine GoldED usies Amigas blitter, so why can't the work bench do the same?
Is there a solution?
