#Philips and CD32

In a way, I agree with you. However, the original CD-I was
underpowered and the development tools were expensive and somewhat
cumbersome to use. A few enhancements to the CD32, like an extra MB
of Fast RAM and possibly a faster processor, would greatly increase
the performance.
For Philips, I don't think making the CD32 compliant with CD-I titles
is worth it. Maybe a trade-in program could be used?
If Philips gets the technology, hopefully the will just license the
chipset to whomever wants it.

While I still can't imagine Philips making CD-i II out of CD32, I
-definitely- agree with you in hoping that if they get the technology
they liscense it!
How about an interface for using the cd23 as a cdrom for the a2/3/4000?
I think you can do that via a serial port product called The Communicator.
Also, I think it was listed here, but I don't have the message anymore.

It's called the Communicator. I believe it's available in German and UK
markets.
Someone named "Keesom" in AmigaArts forum has posted something about the
Communicator recently. Check it out.
As for availability in the US, I haven't heard of a distributor for it.
Anyone know anything more on this? This gadget would make the CD32 an even
better value (especially with the Flyer right around the corner…<g>).
