#SMOKED 1960
2 messages in this thread
JIM,
Can I jump into your 1960/1950 monitor thread to ask if any you guys have
had problems running an Amiga1200 on them. I find the screen flickers very
badly and the only time I can get a stable screen I lose a good chunk of
the left-hand side of my monitor screen.
Would this be the sign of a duff 1200 or is it just that the 1960 and 1200
are incompatable?
Thanks in advance for any help you, or anyone else, may be able to offer.
IAIN.

Iain…
I have exactly the same problems with my A1200 and 1960 monitor. It is
however definitely a problem with the A1200 not the monitor because I also have
an old 1950 monitor and it behaves in the same way when connected to the A1200.
By the way if you ever get a chance to exchange your 1960 for a 1950 do so.
The 1950 is much sharper.
If you find a solution to your problem I would love to hear it. I suspect
we need mother board swaps or atleast some chips swapped. *:^( I also have a
GPV accelerator (40mhz) on the A1200. I haven't tried removing it to see if it
is some of the problem. I notice the flicker is its worst when the computer is
accessing a disk or the CPU is busy.
