Anyone,
Anybody know where I can get a decent size Earth map, say 800×600 at least?

We have a full color map of the earth that is a 2,000 x 1,000 that you might be
interested in. You can choose if you need the ocean floor or not. The data
came from actual satellite data. Please give me a call at 1-800-328-2738.

Viewpoint. "Earth Imaging" makes it. It has incredible resolution.

Michael, Take a look in the GRAPHDEV forum under ray traced sources.
There is a zip file there containing some nice earth .TGA's. I'm
pretty sure that's where they are but you can always GO GRAPHFF and
do a keyword search on earth. If you have trouble let me know – I
have them. The one is a very nice map and should work great – there's
also a cloud map if you need one also. (And they're free <g>)

We have one on our BBS – The Rendering Plant BBS. It is 2 720×360 jpeg files –
one is a greyscale height map, the other is a color texture map. It's called
earthmap.zip. It's a subscription BBS, $36/year for 60 minutes/day with
unlimited downloads. You can join via credit cards or a check. You can check it
