Is anyone interested in exchanging some 3D Studio materials? I know that I have materials that I like and would share, I might even be talked into sharing my secret powdered doughnut material. Anyhow, getting some group together could help all of us expand our libraries and creativity. Let me know what you think.

Rick, I just looked through my matlib and found some non-scene specific materials that might be of interest: A reflection map that gives metals a "brushed" or scratched look. Useful for de-sterilizing metalic scenes. A trashed copper material. An improved concrete tile, produces excelent sidewalk tiles. A collection of "molten fire" materials, nifty on human forms. A pitted wrought iron, allthough it needs fine tuning Poured plaster, can be tweaked to produce a highly realistic and useful powdered doughnut. <g> "SP", an Escher-like design that makes skewed geometry look non-euclidian. Also, useful materials can be pulled out of the "Old City" mesh that ships with the program, most notably steel. If you or anyone else are interested in these let me know. We can arrange some sort of transfer. I will go through my meshes and see if I can find more to add to the list. I am doing a computer graphics thesis at Simon's Rock College on 3D studio, concentrating on art as opposed to business images. I would be highly interested in any unusual materials that you have to offer. I personaly have a large collection of oddball materials and could provide a list of these if you are interested. Jason, I have a wind-sock that I put together for a glider demo. It's not a material, but you might find it interesting. Let me know where to send it. Rick 71172,1451

Jason, I'm new at all this great 3ds stuff and don't have a lot of mat. as of yet but I would be interested in swapping what I have. I've been making alot of materials out of GIF's of space photography. Vern 71773,2067

Hey Vern, Do you have any moon surface .bmp or .gifs. I'm looking for a map to plaster onto my little moon. Let me know.

Jason, If you interested in sharing MATLIBS, why not upload them on the forum (use a creative KEYWORD like … hmmm….MATLIB) and if the others do the same, we'll start to build a core that more and more people will contribute to. Ang
