#IM failure- help!
2 messages in this thread
I have been completely unable to load any image of any kind, size or format
into IM without the program crashing immediately, with a Program failed or
Error msg #8000000B. I had rev. 9.19 and today received and installed rev.
1.50C. Each acted the same: crashed. I have an A3000 with 4 Megs + 2. I do
have Picasso II installed though I have dis connected the board, i.e. am
running video directly to the monitor not through the card, have taken the
Picasso lines out of startup seq. and removed the Change Screen from startup,
so short of removing the card, it should not be interfering. Is it possible
that I have too little memory to run IM? I even turned off the UNDO buffer to
no avail. Is this an unusable program without more RAM? If so, I think there
should be some statement to this effect. Have other IM buyers reported this
difficulty? And, lastly, when will some work-around be developed for Picasso
II? Please help! FYI, I could not even load the simpliest, low res image from
DPaint3.
Something else is wrong – although I don't, at this point, have any idea
what it is. Six megs is pretty short; but then again, a lowres image is
pretty minimal in terms of memory consumption and my *guess* is that
should work with six megs just fine.
No "work-around" is planned for the Picasso. They need to fix their AGA
emulation; it's not our problem in any way, shape or form.
I think you'll have to call the tech support people directly and see if
Mike or Dave can help you out, here. Call when you're right next to your
machine so they can run you thru various checks and so forth.
