_4~?~?~?~RE: HardFrame2000 I have an A2000, Rev 4.4 M/B. I have an HF2000, Rev 1.9 ROM, with a Quantum M{?~?~?~?~LPs 105S as Device 0. I want to put a seagate ST296N 80.9MB SCSI drive in the system. It is set for device 1. I have a few problems. #1) the drive won't automount. I followed the directions TO A T REPEATEDLY! BTW, this appears to Ff~?~?~?~?NOT be a 295N with the ROM bug. RDPrep from the WB finds the drives searching for them (I don't have to do RDprep -U1 from the CLI).I Partition, write RDB, etc….just like the DOC's says. when I reboot, and try to format it from the CLI, AmigaDOS reports drive not found. I repeated the RDB SEVERAL times, with the instructions with me, and followed them EXACTLY about 5 times. (yes…I did a Low-Level format). After giving up on automount, I used the OS Mount command. now, it appears that the Seagate does not come on-line fast enough, and, when I power-on the A2000, I have to warm boot AFTER it boots. the WB shows the Seagate as DH1:???? , after a warm boot <ctrl – A – A>, the Seagate shows up fine. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong, or, is there a way to make the mount command wait a little longer? could that be why the HardFrame2000 can't automount it? because the drive isn't ready? on my HF2000, on the jumper block, ALL jumpers are set except the very top one (LED) and the very bottom one (came to me like that). I saw in the manual something about a jumper selecting 30 seconds, or 5 seconds, but, all the jumpers are set. The manual says that the very bottom 2 jumpers aren't used, so I didn't think the bottom jumper has anything to do with it! Also, on the Q LPS105S, I couldn't find the Resistor Packs. Can anyone tell me where they are??? Thanks for your time! Tony ———> Zippin' Along on AutoPilot ———> ———> From semi-sunny Miami, FL ———>

Tony: power both drives directly from the power supply; not the bus. Make your seagate scsi ID #6 and see if that gives it time to spin up and "be ready" for automounting. –Redmond

well….NOW when i turned on the machine, it says my volume HARDDISK (the Quantum LPS105S, SCSI device 0) is unvalidated. the last time it was turned off, it was turned off properly…what gives? how can it be fixed? anything I can D?L from the Amiga forums to correct this? Tony

Well, now it seems, that no matter WHAT I do, or HOW long I wait, the seagate always comes up as DH1:???? on the WB ( Ihave ROM 2.04, OS2.2). I tried what you said: HF2000 is ID7, Quantum is ID0, seagate is ID6, and the Q is NOW getting power from the P/S. Still to no avail….HEEEEEELP! (geee….I miss plain old: FDISK, format c:/s…t'was so EASY) Tony
