#Bit.Movie '94

I entered the Bit.Movie '94 contest in Italy many months back. I finally
received the promised show catalog that all entrants get. I would very much
recommend that anyone doing computer animations, computer art or renderings
enter this contest. The catalog is fantastic – beautifully printed and very
interesting to read. There were 226 entries from all over the world. Imagine
renderings were heavily represented. Many of the products supported in the
Amigavendor forum were credited,Imagemaster, ImageFX etc. Surprising nice stuff
was still being done with Deluxe Paint in the 2D still section. I sent several
high resolution Jpegs. Two of them were printed in a 3X4" size in the catalog.

Congrats Margaret. how much is it to enter the contest?
It doesn't cost anything to enter the contest. I wasn't so sure about sending
my pictures on a Syquest and ever getting the cartridge returned. However, they
have an animation entry and I don't know how you'd send that on disks. They
welcome removable media. I just didn't want to take the chance. So I sent them
Jpegs on disks in January. The artists of the winning still entry wrote up a
3-4 page article describing how they made their entry. It was a long discussion
of the biology of seahorses, the mythology of seahorses and unicorns. Then
there was a complete tutorial on how they modeled their seahorse-unicorn using
Imagine and Essence. People in this country just can't write ! I used to get
British craft and arts magazines and the quality of the writing is much higher
than then same thing in this country.
Sounds Cool. Perhaps I'll look into sub, mitting something to Bit.Movie 95
