You need to get ppp.device driver online using the command.
AmiTCP:bin/online ppp0
/\ Does the first line of your startnet script look like that?

If you don't have ppp.device installed in your devs:networks directory, you
need to d'l and install it and its commands in AmiTCP:bin/ and add that line
to your startnet script.
I haven't tried using the dialscript, I just log on using AutoPilot and hands
on and manually GO PPPCONNECT and then quit handson and execute Startnet in a
shell window.
ppp is the Point to Point Protocol that is needed by AmiTCP/IP to serially
connect to the network.
