I've got a HD boot problem. System: A4000/040, 2 MB Chip, 8 MB Fast, 120 MB Seagate HD. I filled up my 120 MB Seagate so I purchased a 850 MB Maxtor (mod#7850AV). I formatted the drive, put a couple of things on it to test and it worked OK. I didn't realize that there was a problem until I rebooted. The 850 Maxtor doesn't seem to start "fast" enough when the system is power up. I get the "AMIGA ROM 3.0" "Please insert disk" screen. If I warm boot the drive works fine (the drive is already spining) or if when I boot I can hold down the two mouse buttons then click on boot. Does anyone have this problem? Any fixes? PS I haven't called Maxtor just yet. I'm waiting to hear from the experts first(you guys!). Thanks in advance. Les from Bayonne, NJ via Auto Pilot 1.77 -TTFN

Les, I have the same problem, except the new drive I put in was a Western Digital 540 MB drive. It works fine but won't boot unless I do a warm boot. I have posted several messages here for help, but have gotten no response. Hope you have better luck! If you find a solution, PLEASE let me know! Cheers, Dan Wolfson
