#a2286 pin 6 fix
5 messages in this thread
Hi everybody,
Somebody can tell me what is the "PIN 6 FIX" for the A2286 since
i will pick one cheap next week , i would like to get the
maximum transfer rate between the Amiga and the Bridgeboard. Thanks
Michel Beausejour
Michael,
The "pin 6 fix" was never an official one from C= as far as I know.
Scott Drysdale posted it in a public message section on another network
while he was working for C=. I made the modification to my A2286, but
don't recall the exact details. I'll get them to you if I can locate
them, but in the meantime, perhaps somebody else will be able to locate
them faster. 8)
It involves lifting pin 6 of a socketed chip out of the socket, and
connecting a jumper from it to another location.
The mod didn't seem to harm my situation, but since I have other problems
using AREAD/AWRITE, I can't tell how much good that it did, either.
David
David,
Did you ever try my "fix" for the AREAD/AWRITE problem?
Don
Don,
I implemented your fix last week, just after I received the new Janus
software. I still haven't gotten the new software completely setup
apparently, since the system doesn't seem to be able to find DOSServ (or
MouseServ) even though they're where the installer program put them.
(Just in the process of tracking this down – I haven't had a lot of time
to tinker recently, and have to work on it when I have time available.)
After that gets solved, I'm hoping that your fix will work, and that I'll
finally be able to use ARead/AWrite effectively.
David
David,
Thanks for the reply, i'll really appreciate it , if you can find it
for me. Thanks again Michel
