#Mac SCSI CD-ROM on IBM?

I've got an Apple CD300e plus for use with my Mac Emplant..
Does anyone know of a driver that will enable me to use the Apple drive on the
SCSI port of an IBM clone?
I belive the Mechanism inside the drive is a Matshita CD 8004 (v1.1f)

Yes Marion, that was the first place I tried.. I was kinda hoping that somebody
else here with a "3 headed monster" (my girlfriends description) would have
wanted a similar thing.. never mind, thanks for your reply…

Steve, what kind of SCSI card do you have in your IBM ? That will help
determine what kind of drivers you need. I have an Adaptec 1542CF SCSI card
with an internal Toshiba CDROM. I use a driver that came in a software bundle
with the card called CUNI_ASP.sys ( from Corel, the makers of CorelDraw ).
If you have DOS 5.0 or higher on the IBM. then you have the second file you
need, MSCDEX.EXE.
One file ( my CUNI_ASP.sys ) goes in your config.sys, the second ( MSCDEX.EXE )
goes in your autoexec.bat.
The sys file you need really depends on your SCSI card. I took a quick look in
IBM file find, but I only saw 2 sys files, and they were specific for an NCR
pc/scsi card.
Let me know if you can identify your SCSI card and I might be able to give more
suggestions.

Havn't actually bought a SCSI card for the IBM yet, (It's my girlfriends PC) I
didn't want to until I had found a driver that would work with my CD player..
From what you say do I take it that a generic SCSI driver will work? (It looks
like we will get an Adaptec SCSI card)

I got the impression that you already had a SCSI card in the IBM. If you're
buying one, Adaptec makes a variety of good ones. I have a 1542CF that does all
types of SCSI devices. If you go shopping around for a card, I would make sure
that the vendor sells you some software with it. I am not sure if all SCSI
controllers come bundled with software; sometimes it's bundled and sold
separately. If you ask the vendor about software, just tell him you got a CDROM
from a friend. You tell him it's from a Mac and he may tell you he can't help
you. Some vendors are weird that way.
