Oh, don't ask me about such things – what actually IS MultiTOS? A new Atari OS
with real (i.e. preemptive) Multitasking? The only thing(s) I can tell you are
the facts of the new C-LAB Falcon MKII:
CPU: Motorola 68030/16MHz with 256 bytes each of data and instruction cache
DSP: Motorola 56000/32MHz, connectors for external peripherals (for example
digital interfaces); socket for additional second DSP
RAM: 16MB (2MB internal program/14MB data, not expandable)
Storage Media: internal 3.5" HD floppy drive (PC compatible); internal 514MB
SCSI2 hard disk; external SCSI2 connector (max. partition size 2GB)
Audio System: 16-bit A/D and D/A converters with 1-bit-DAC-bitstream and 256x
oversampling; 8 digital record and playback channels with up to 50kHz sampling
rate; Sound-DMA co-processor; analogue stereo input and output (+4dB)
Software: Steinberg's "Cubase Audio" pre-installed (needs key=dongle).
Future Developments: larger hard disk (750-800MB) later this year with no price
increase; interfaces for tape-based digital recording systems (like Alesis'
ADAT or Tascam's DA-88); professional syncing abilities (Wordclock); rack mount
version integrating all these plus additional MIDI ports, digital audio
interfaces in common formats as well as analogue single in/outputs. Price:
Current system including computer, monitor and software about DM6000 (about
US$4400 with the weak dollar at 1.37).

The spec of the Falcon MKII looks exactly the same as the one I saw years ago,
the only difference might be the hard drive size. MultiTOS allowed you to run
more than one program at once, but not all programs worked under it. I don't
think it was pre-emptive either. Even Microsoft can't turn a non-preemptive
into a pre-emptive. You cannot do that without application recomps.
