#Bones Pro
3 messages in this thread
Hello, everybody.
I'm presently trying to "bone" a person ( in 3D Studio, that is). The
problem I have encountered ( in the demo I got) is that bones seem to
influence beyond the limbs, which causes the body to be constantly deformed by
the moving bones. This is aggravating me like there's no tomorrow.
Does this mean that bones should have some "restraining orders" to keep
them apart so that they don't start interfering with each other? Is Bones Pro
limited to dealing with simple cylinders, spheres and Coke bottles, or can it
take care of elaborate meshes like that of a human?
Please, if you have Bones, tell me if you encountered this problem at
some point…
Thanks!
When using bones pro, it is important to realize that you must also "lock-down"
the portion of your mesh you dont want unduly influenced with other bones.
With your human, if you just put bones in the legs to animate him walking, or
something, and you are getting unwanted movement in the hips or abdomen, add
more bones there, to keep the leg bones from influencing them. You must also
fiddle with the 'influence' settings as well, till you find what works for you.
