Hi, Folks! I need to animate a kind of tube, that is to be filled with a liquid. Are there any IPAS-routines for this job, too or do i have to manage it 'manually'? regards klaus

Klaus, the best way to do what you want is the Python IPAS routine from Schriebr Instruments. You can create growing tubes or tubes within tubes. Works very well. Call Schrieber 303-759-1024.

>> I need to animate a kind of tube, that is to be filled with a liquid. Check out PYTHON from Schreiber. It does exactly what you need. You can also create your tube in the lofter, with mapping coords ON and apply an animated opacity map. Have your map move from full black to full white. When applied to your object it will look as if the tube "grows". – Dave

This Python ipas sounds very very cool, there are dozens of different applications that can used with this. MaRk

Hi, Mark. Thanks for your hint, but does PATHON also 'flow' around irregularly shaped objects, that ly inside the tube? (e.g. Stones etc) Can it be used to fill other objects like bathtubs etc.?

Hi Klaus, well, sorry, I don't know the product well enough to say, but this would be interesting, almost if you could "attach" the water material and have it sort of climb up an object, no matter what shape it may have. Mark.

Although others are pointing you to an IPAS, you can actually do this without one quite successfully. I've posted an example of exactly how to do this on the board (although the example uses smoke the same thing applies for liquid) — I think it's SPOOL.ZIP — in the Mesh area.
