#Making water
7 messages in this thread
Jonas,
I'm writing a story on how to make water. Could you give any and all leads you
know regarding generating water. I put a message on the forum but got only one
reply. But I'm sure someone out there must have made water w/ 3DS- besides
myself. Also I've got a tight deadline, so a fast response would be gleefully
appreciated.

Hi Gregory,
<< Also I've got a tight deadline, so a fast response would be gleefully
appreciated. >>
I searched the library with a KEYWORD "WATER" and set the starting date to
1/1/95 and found several very interesting uploads involving Caustics, morph
targets, anipro and several very good animations..
check out the abstract for each file..

make that a starting date of 1/1/94..
Jonas,
Thanks a lot. I'll look for it now. I have another question, however. What is
the command for capturing screen shots? I've looked in the manuals but can't
seem to find it.

THREE
This document describes 10 undocumented features in 3DSr3 that can be accessed
via new commands in the 3DS.SET configuration file. Note that these commands
are untested, and I make no guarantee that using them will not cause anomalous
behaviour. However, 4-5 of them can be quite useful under certain
circumstances (described in the text).

Gregory,
We just completed some animations on the america's cup for PBS, we managed to
get some good looking water using a combination of sxps. I can't remember the
settings, but I have them at the office, I'll email you a project file, and
post it up here on the forum tomorow. Credit goes to Robert Quinn, one of my
coworkers for coming up with the water texture.

Yann,
That sounds great. I appreciate your help on this.
