Is there any easier way to attach objects to one another other than the "H" hot
key. Am I missing something because it would surely be useful after a serious
array command!?!?!

Nick, select all the objects you need to attach. Now, do a
Create/Face/Detach/Selected. This will detach all selected faces into a single
object.
I hope this is what you are looking for.
