A strange problem. I cannot (as of thisafternoon) move anything in the 3d editor in the x direction with any snap spacing less than 2" regardless of what snap is set to. All other axis work correctly and yes, they are all set to the same increment. If I set snap spacing to greater than 2" it works fine. I switch back and forth between autocad and 3ds frequently and have the bad habit of typing acad commands in 3ds, hitting lots of keyboard shortcut keys in the process. What did I do? I've opened older project files and everything works ok. Thanks Harold

Harold, Was this by chance a DXF import from AutoCAD. If so, try moving your project to 0,0,0 in AutoCAD and set your UCS to world before doing the DXFOUT. I have encountered imports which were off in left field and caused roundoff errors which will effect a vertices location and the grid snap to operate in a unusual manor. -Mike

Mike; That's exactly what it is. I'm not anxious to move the whole scene, it's an airport placed across thousands of feet and aligning my modeling with my clients site plan has been a great convenience, plus the fact that at this point I have at least a hundred separate acad and 3ds files that would have to be moved. But thanks, at least I am comforted by the fact that it probably wasn't anything that I did. Harold

Glad to help out! I was not able to move my mesh back to 0,0,0 in AutoCAD, so it was a real mess to work with. My situation sounds very similar to yours, the snap did not bother me much but my camera paths sure were jumping around. I got the job finished without moving mesh, lights and camera paths. Good luck Harold -Mike
