Hi. Sorry 'bout the catchy message title. I really need your attention on this
one 🙂
I'm about to purchase 16bit coax Ethernet cards. The seller is offering
me a remote boot prom for next to nothing. Says I won't have to boot from a
disk when logged on network. Apparently worth $50. Do I need a remote boot
prom? Will 3D Studio networking be more enjoyable with or without one? Is 3D
Studio network rendering an enjoyable experience, or can it easily turn into a
living hell?
I, for one, should know what a living hell is: I am currently using a piece of
software called Microsoft Windows some of you might already be acquainted with

I don't know about the remote boot prom but if its inexpensive it can't hurt.
However, and this is real important. NT supports 32 bit through the PCI bus, so
you'd be much better off getting a PCI 32 bit or if you have an EISA 32 bit as
well. The Workstation version supports up to 10 machines, so you've got a built
in network. It gets a little more complicated if you want to go NT – DOS but
for $69 you can buy Netware light and NT supports Netwares protocols….

If you hated Windows I think you're going to love NT. That's my take on it,
because I felt the same way you did.
