#VHS Tapes for Demo
11 messages in this thread
Hello,
Anyone out there know where to find short (5-10 minute) VHS or S-VHS tapes?
I want to distribute demo tapes, but a 120 minute tape seems like a waste of
money and tape both. I know that I've seen them advertised before but I don't
remember where.

Matt, any professional video store sells tape in various lengths. Most video
mags run ads by professional outlets that advertize volume. I order tapes with
5min duration in volume from B&H S- VHS and BetaSP. Hi-8 I buy in 15min
duration. B&H 119 W. 17th St NY,NY Toll Free: 800-947-9903 and in NY

Jeff,
Thanks for the info, as many times as I've seen their ads I never thought
to give B&H a call.

Matt, best prices I've ever seen, anywhere. Particularly when you are
purchasing major equipment. These guys seem to be able to beat everyone by
another 10%. Only problem for me is NY sales tax. Strange, how a State
structures their tax laws in such a way that it forces one to look out of state
when making major purchases. j
Jeff,
Don't say that State sales tax thing too loud. I've heard of legislation to
force all mail order companies to charge sales tax for the state that items are
shipped to. I know the feeling, Insight Direct is here in AZ I bought my 90mhz
pentium from them great system. But I saved over $90 on my 75mhz pentium by
mail out of state.

Matt: <shhhhhhhhh re: Sales tax> Know what you mean. I was going to send for
literature on the Insight Computer. Glad you are happy with yours. Where are
you in AZ. I used to live in Tucson back in "dem wild 60s". Jeffrey
Jeff,
I am living and "working" in Flagstaff. I much prefer the mountains, trees,
and temperatures to those in the southern part of the state. Don't get me
wrong, I do like the desert. It has a certain beauty that you don't find in
many other places. BUT I do prefer a little snow now and agian. I lives in
Hawaii for four years and found the lack of seasons somehow disturbing. Not
that it didn't make for great diving though.
Anyway I am really happy with my Instght CPU. They got me a MAG 21" monitor
even before MAG had advertised them. Other than some motherboard problems (I
bought one of their first ten 90mhz pentiums) with more than 16mb. It worked as
configured but when they installed the 32mb I wanted the motherboards refused
to see the extra 16mb. But they fixed it and it has been trouble free since
then. They have a nice roomy full tower casewith big fans.
If you decide on Insight I think you'll be happy. But there are alot of
companies out there.

PMJI,
But each State already has what they refer to as a "Use" Tax. You might want
to check this out with your Accountant. Basicly what it means is if you buy
items from out of state and don't pay Tax on them but "use" them in your state.
Your State _could_ demand that you pay "use" tax on that item if and when they
ever discover this. That would be when and if you ever get audited. So if
your ever called in for a Tax audit on your business and all your hardware was
purchased out of state…..guess What? …!!!:-(
My Two Cents worth…subject to use tax in your state should you deciede to
listen. <BG>

Matt:
Did you ever find a source for the 5-10 minute length VHS or S-VHS tapes? I've
been looking myself and have had no luck. Let me know if you do.
Kenn
I've got a great source for VHS tapes of any length:
American Video Warehouse
800-598-8273
They also sell SVHS tapes at low prices.

Ken,
I was told by one of our fellow forum members that these were available
from B&H Photo-Video in NY. Their number is 800-947-9939 or 212-444-5039. I
haven't called yet but I think they will have what I need.
