Victor, Thanks for the advice. I'm wondering, is this problem endemic to the 2217A? Don't feel like rolling out the cash for a new drive, but if this is going to keep happening, it'd be worth putting my Micropolis to less strenuous use as a regular old storage drive and splurge for something more dependable for the PAR. This is really frustrating–I mean, I just put out all this dough for the PAR and drive 3 months ago and already it's chewed up all my files. Computers are screwy. The fan sounds like a good idea. My block limit's already at 240, so I don't think that was the problem. Generally I do just about all of my PAR file management from with the PAR itself, so I don't think that's it either. My question is, is it the drive, the PAR board, or the PAR software? I'm going to talk to DPS tomorrow & hope they can shed some light. Until then, thinking about some lithium….for myself. FYI, I've been using a 2217A with my PAR since January with no problems at all. None. I've even completely filled the drive and it still refused to crash. Luckily… I'm not sure why I've been so lucky, but it may be due to a tip I got from Martin Foster – I've got my cover off and have a 6 inch fan blowing on the thing. Hey, it works! DM

David, I have to second your application of a fan to the open insides of the computer. I've had a couple of crashes with the PAR\ 2 Micropolis 2217A's but since I opened the tower case and directed a 10 inch fan at it no problems. We use the PAR more now than ever. Probably 4 to 6 hours (in and out ) per day. Great product! Thanks for letting me jump in. ComWorks

Randy, Glad to hear you like your PAR so much. I got that tip on the fan from Martin Foster. I sure wish I had a second 2217 like you, there's been quite a few times when that would have been a tremendous assett. I'm just waiting for the PVR now…
