I'm VP of Marketing for Digital Directory Assistance, the publisher of PhoneDisc. We've just announced our 50,000 PhoneDisc shipped and are, by far, the largest supplier of CD-based phone directories in the world. We are preparing a several new releases for shipment in about 2 weeks. They will offer, among other things, a fully-indexed, regional product containg both Residential & Business listings on 4 discs! We are able to do this because our compression algorithms allow for almost DOUBLE the amount of data to be [reliably] stored and retrieved of any other product on the market. In addition, we expect to have more data than any other product currently available. I don't know if you've seen our latest Business edition, but it is vastly superior to all business products we have tested. It has over 9.5 million current business listings, fully searchable by Name, Address, Telephone & Business Type or SIC. Our largest (but not only) distributor, DAK Catalogue, has been using this as their PRIMARY directory assistance tool, saving $.75 per DA call and finding many more records than they would by going thru DA.
