#3ds project news?
4 messages in this thread
Gary,
The interaction stirred up by the "Lightwave vs 3ds" thread was very
exciting! The heat generated by this challenge brought out people and
projects that make 3ds users proud!
The opening remark …"what the hell are you talking about", regarding
the use of 3ds in serious projects reminded me of the opening scene of the
original "Naked Gun" when the
detectve (OJ) tries to kick open the door to the Drug dealers' room only to get
his leg stuck thru the wood door, giving the 30 or so bad guys time lock and
load, even clean their guns before he stepped thru to announce that they were
under arrest!
Our on-line heavy duty, code-chompin', project-doin' 3ds guys unloaded
such a barrage of 3ds
projects and retoric that I had to run outside my office to tell perfect
strangers "hey, I'm really part of something here!!Come look at what they
say…!".
This is akin to nationalistic fervor and IF it led to the purchase of
small Carribean Banana Republic, Hey! count me as a new citizen!! Studiocity
2000, BAH! We could recreate Brazilia only better and get to Wind Surf too!
Hah! The 2nd language will be Spanish since ana has already set that
precedent!!<G>
MY QUESTION:
Could we, please invite project effects developers
using 3ds such as Cyberlab 7 (Dan Mapes) to be interactive for Q & A? (Origin
or others?) Maybe it would it require a new forum or could
it just happen in " take 5"? The processes used to go to interactive media
(games) or cinema("Virtuosity") are very interesting!! Could we get that aspect
of 3ds??

As I read your msg I was beginning to develop this serious laugh…..Art
tacos,
Mariachi band……Tex Mix Party……….You WEREserious! I DL'ed The Kathy
Clinton msg from May 10th. A seriouly Mega important opportunity!! If only I
can find a way!!
I doubt I can afford the trip (sigh) but sigraph will be a different story!
Besides
I probably couldn't find affordable accomodations in the Haite-Asbury area and
my Love beads were eaten by a cat many years ago.
I have to know what's in an "Art Taco"! ………………..Tex mix? Will
Phil Graham be there?]
Thanks for sending me the info, Gary
Ah, fervor… What would life be without it? <g>
As Jonas mentioned, Dan Mapes will be at the Autodesk party at Art-Teco in
June. Plus, Frank Foster will be speaking about techniques that Sony Pictures
used to visualize cyberspace with 3DS for Johnny Mnemonic at our party at
Siggraph.
