I have a faulty Amiga 500, when it is switched on there is no start-up
screen ('hand holding disk') and the power light continually flashes from full
brightness to half brightness.
I am struggling to find a repair shop or a cure to my problem. I am
currently living in Warwickshire. If anyone can offer any advice I would be
very gratefull.
Mike Maybey.

Mike,
My standard advice to people in the UK is that they should join ICPUG – a
national club supporting all sorts of computers, but especially those made by
Commodore, and including the Amiga. Their members probably know as much about
what is available in the UK as anyone you will find. And many of them are
capable of fixing almost anything that is wrong with your machine. I've known
them to do such repairs at club meetings, even.
I'm not sure who would be close to you in Warwickshire, because I live in Texas
and my English geography is a bit hazy except for the few places I've actually
seen there. You might call the chairman, John Bickerstaff. His number is
081-651-5436 (think you have to add a 1 in front of one of those now, but I
forget which one. Suspect you'll know.) Call him after 8 PM, please. He will
tell you where to find the nearest local group, and THEY will help you with
your machine – you have to be a member to get the services, but it doesn't cost
much and they're a neat bunch of people.
