Kent: HP did away with the bicomm.drv scheme with the release of v.1.35 of the LJ4 driver. Make sure you are using v.1.35 or 1.50 (which is in Library (4) as L4WIN3.ZIP). The comm.drv that is written to Windows with the install of the HP driver has been provided by Microsoft, so if your other application has written over the comm.drv — you may need to follow up with them about resolving the conflict. To get around this, you may need to turn off the status monitor for the LJ so that the bidirectional communication doesn't take place (which the comm.drv allows).
