#HP Laserjet 4M Plus

I am thinking of purchasing a HP Laserjet 4M Plus. I live in Japan and am told
that this printer is not available here. This causes a problem as we use A4
paper in here. If I purchase a US model 4M plus directly from the US, does the
250 sheet paper tray support A4 paper, if not what is the approx price and the
part number for an A4 tray?? I undrstand that there is also a 500 sheet A4 tray
available, is the part no. C2083D, if so what is the approx. cost. Lastly as
getting HP toner cartridges for this model may be hard in Japan, is there an
alternative Canon cartridge that will work??

Correct, the 500 page lower A4 tray is C2083D street price in the UK approx 165
pounds stirling.
Regarding the 250 page tray two options exist, C2085D is a multi size tray
covering legal, A4, letter & executive, and C2085F A4 only. UK street prices
for both items is 60 pounds stirling.
I cannot give you any part numbers but the LJ4+ family uses a Canon engine so
replacement toners should not be a problem.

Metric sized sheets are supported by the drivers of all HP laser printers.
Remember, A4 is the standard in Europe, Canada, etc. as well.
