The HP LJ 4L worked fine when I first got it. Then I loaded some screen
savers, one with sound, but since I don't have a sound card or speakers, other
than the little computer speaker, it didn't sound too good. That's when the
problem with the sound driver that gives a voice message from the LJ 4L began.
I deleted the Screen Saver, but the voice messages never returned. Any body
know what I did wrong and how to fix it? It's not a biggie, but I miss the
little guy telling me to reload the paper tray.
Thanks,
William
i believe the screen saver changed some .ini -files of windows, just like the
installation program of the hp does. look in your windows-dir for a driver with
a name like pcspeaker.drv or something like that ( don't know excactly ) and
then look in the .ini-files ( i always forget which one until i have a look )
for your sound-driver-section and insert that name.
if this doesn't fix the problem then your screen-saver really messed up the
ini-files and you should simply re-install the printer.
reply if it doesn't work.
