We have a problem on our Netware 3.12 network where everyonce in a while, a job
sent to an HP 4 will result in millions of 1 byte print jobs, that fills up the
queue entirely. Has anybody every seen this? We have a JetDirect card
installed in the printer, and also have IP set up for the printer. Any
Ideas????

Are there different owners of the millions of 1 byte print jobs? Is it
possible that an application being used by one of the LAN clients has incorrect
timeout values or an application that prints directly to queues has a bug?
Normally the kind of problem you are experiencing is related to user error, or
application software error–not the Jet Direct card. I would check with the
owning userid and see what they're up to. (There might also be a bug in the
VLM or NETX junk that is required to be a Novell user on a LAN)
