PAR by DPS for sale with TBCIV and Conner 1275 A hard drive 1.2 gig. Only 2
months old, still under warranty and only about 10 hours on it.
Also selling a Sanyo GVRS955 animation editing VCR. Has the animation
controller built in and is the cheapest frame accurate deck on the market
today.
Less than 10 hours on the deck.
Also ( maybe shouldn't post this here) but selling Crystal Graphic Topas Pro
5.1 with Flying Fonts Pro.

Except maybe the Topas which "work great" is very debatable. <G>

Have you used Topas a lot. I have used it for logos and simple
animations. I have not found any problems with it. In fact, it is very easy
to use and really straight forward. I also own Truspace and 3D STudio. It is
by far the easiest one to use.

It's all in what you're used to. I found Topas awkward, It was very picky as
to the graphics cards that would give you good displays and designing
everything using basicly one screen was slow and confusing for me. I only used
it for those things that can't be done on 3DS.

Since I currently have both too and am trying to sell Topas. I would
be interested in how you use both of them together. What needs does Topas do
for you that 3D studio doesn't.

Prior to page roll IPAS for 3DS I used Topas for creating any animation that
required an object to bend greater than 180 degrees. 3DS still has this
limitation but you can do it via the viewpoint IPAS. Match bit map perspective
is available in Topas but since R4, 3DS can do it easier. The only thing left
is refractive raytracing which, I believe can also be done now with Ray Dream
IPAS but I haven't seen it. eg. Glass looks pasty in 3DS where as Topas it
looks real because the glass object can use a raytracer refraction to make it
look very real. FYI: I use Topas so rarely that I removed it from my HD
because, even at today's prices on harddrives I find the space Topas took up
better used for 3DS rendered frames <G>

I am asking $2550 for the PAR card with TBCIV and Conner hard disk.
Less than 10 hours on them and only 2 months old so it has the lastest drivers
and with original warranties.
The Sanyo GVRS-955 is $2495 and has less than 10 hours on it. Again
with original warranties. It is about 6 months old.

Hi Randy
I am looking to get into digital video. The new perception video
recorder is coming out in june and I just got a look at that at a show in NYC.
It's the second generation of the PAR and it looked great. I still like the
PAR though and would like to know how much cheaper it would be for me to go
with your setup over the new one. In other words how much do you want for the
PAR and the deck? Thanx

The PAR card with the TBCIV and Conner hard disk, I am asking $2495.
This will save you about $300-400 off the price of a PAR card setup like this
now. The PVR card will sell for the same price as the PAR card minus the hard
disk price. So you could get a PVR or a PAR with TBC's for the same price.
What will cost you more is the price of the hard disks. In a sense you could
get this setup and not pay for the hard disk whereas you will have to pay for
a hard disk with the PVR if you buy it. Add that factor in and you will pay
about $500 on up MORE than this setup.
I guess it just depends on your needs. The quality of this card is
really great too. If you are not producing television commercials for
broadcast, I not sure you really need a PVR. But that's something you will
have to decide. Just remember this card (PAR) works with any computer system
whereas the PVR has to be SCSI and two PCI slots full lenght and full height.
So make sure your CPU and fan aren't in the way or your screwed.
