Re. Commodore SCSI Controllers:
Erik:
I have an A3000 in a tower case and at first I had real SCSI problems. I
replaced the missing terminators on the motherboard and now it runs. However,
after the machine has run for a while it will fail to reboot. I get a yellow
screen meaning that the CPU has found an error before the error trapping
software has run. This is what it did when I first thried to get it to run
without the terminators. Something is still flaky somewhere. On the other
hand, I never had any problems with my GVP '030 22MHZ accelerator with SCSI. I
used 2 hds and a CD-ROM (all internal) with no problem. Install and go. Beats
me. Tom
I understand why your GVP is working fine – no external devices.
I found my A3000 flakey without the onboard terminators, but never saw the
yellow screen that you keep getting. (Sounds like something not related to
the SCSI, though….thermal intermittent, loose chip?)
