#A3000 Lockups

Can anyone help me with HD lockup problems. I have and Amiga3000
with a GVP A4000/3000 G-Force 040-40mhz with 16mb's on the board
and 16mb's on the 3000 motherboard for a total of 32mbs. What
happens is that I can render Imagine frames without the accelerator
but when I put the accelerator in it will lock up after about 3 or 4
frames. Most of the time the harddrive will fix itself from being
locked, but sometimes it will cause a hd sector error and I have
to use DiskSalv to fix it. And, if I get real unlucky I have to
reformat my harddrive.
If I'm not trying to render, then the accelerator with work great
for awhile and then as i'm using the amiga, it will occassionally
and sporatically lock. And I'll have to reboot and maybe fixx my
harddrive if its messed up.
Does anyone have any ideas or is anyone having the same problem?

Is this something that has just started, or has the drive always acted this
way. If it has always happened, maybe the transfer rates or other drive
parameters aren't set right. The accelerator would attempt faster transfers and
it could lock up.
BTW, is the drive hooked to the accelerator? If so, what do you do when taking
the accelerator out? If you're switching the drive between the Amiga controller
and the accelerator's, that could be a problem.

Well, I have 2 internal drives hooked to the internal scsi on the motherboard
of the 3000. I also have external devices, such as a MO Optical 256mb and a
88mb SyQuest hooked on the external scsi of the 3000. All of these will lock
with the accelerator in after a few intensive accesses. Such as rendering
frames or copying multiple files. Sometimes it won't lock right away, it's
really more sporatic than anything.

I can only imagine that you are getting some buss conflict. Is there anyway to
connect all the drives either internally or externally and test? Sounds like a
real challenge for a local dealer.
