Agreed, if the user had no knowledge of the controversy concerning SS when
they supported the product. I guess in this case you have to decide for
yourself if the possibility that SS is not an original work is great enough to
make you feel uneasy about supporting it. That decision in turn will be based
on how much you believe the allegations of Jim Drew, and how skeptical you are
of situations where the price seems TOO good for the amount of effort that
would be required to produce the product.
Since I am quite happy with the performance the the Emplant/MAC emulation in
my 4000, I'll simply wait a while to see what proves to be true. If SS turns
out to be legitimate and better than Emplant, then I'll support the product.
