#IFF to PCX?

I'm considering either Brilliance or DPV to draw 256 color images using my A4000. I assume that these programs both save in IFF file format. Is there any software, commercial or shareware, that would convert the resulting 256 color IFF files into 256 color PCX files for importing into MS-DOS code? BTW: Is anyone aware as to whether either of the Amiga programs supports pressure-sensitive styli common to some drawing tablets? Thanks, and regards. Tom

Conversion to PCX files is easy. The freely distributable program "Image Engineer" (which needs the also freely redistributable "Superview" library) will do it, and the commercial program "Personal Paint" will also do it. Have you seen Image Engineer around any of the collections? I came across SuperView as a library and was wondering what used it. regards from Lu downunder APprentice

I think that IMAGENG.LHA in library 14 is the Image Engineer program. I had a look through the library with keyword "superview" and found a fractal program called KFP that uses the Superview library but I don't know what that is like. There is also the "Superview" viewer which uses the library but is seperate from it. Peter Wade Autopiloting from London, England

Kpt is not very good.it uses the library for it's display and save output.MANY programs can create PCX and BMP images like PACKTGA,SUPERVIEW with VERSION 10.2 librarry,IMAge ENGINER,and PERSONAL PAINT 6.1also ADPRO,IMage FX,IMageMaster RT,Mainactor pro,and lots of other programs.PAcktga is one of the better ones because itis freeware,and can write 24 bit pcx/bmp/tga/etc files.It can't handle ham8 iffs though.

The Superview viewer is in the library as SV.LHA, the library is SV-LIB.LHA in AmigaTech. The lirary is free but you have to pay for the viewer. Peter Wade Autopiloting from London, England

or you can use packtga versio .89 it's filename is pack.lha

I've had nothing but problems with it and have heard the same from other folks. I haven't used Brilliance since the dongled version (2.0 isn't) but it should do what you're looking for. DPaint V does…sort of. Don't know about Brilliance. Photogenics, which also supports 24 bit saved files also supports pressure sensitivity and allows one do some nice painting modes.
