Hi Tom –
At present the scrolls don't display shadows or outlines when run over Flyer
clips and too many lines (23 or so, maybe less) crash.
Have you run into those problems?

Sorry for the delay in ansering your questions. I left Saturday night for
London and just got back. I have not paid any attention to whether scrolling
text in the CG displays shadows or outlines or not, and it is quite possible
that they do not. I have also only tried scrolls with no more than five or so
lines of text so I can not verify your observation that scrolls with 23 lines
or more cause crashes. In fact, only today did I at last receive the 4.03 CD
and Toaster/Flyer manual.

Tom,
How did you resolve the Warp Engine/Flyer SCSI conflict? I seemed to remember
that it was difficult to run both together. Just set up a new Flyer user with
an A4000 Warped and had to turn off the CD or it won't boot. However, his HD on
the Warp SCSI was okay, and the CD would come online afterward using the "CD6"
icon.
Things just get curiouser and couriouser.

Basically I never really have had a conflict between the WarpEngine's SCSI and
the Flyer's SCSI, although that is what the technician at HT Electronics
thought when I described the problem to him. When I first received my A4000
back from HT Electronics with the Flyer card installed, I hooked up my
Micropolis 4110 external SCSI HD to the WarpEngine's SCSI port, turned on the
Micropolis, and attempted to boot the A4000. The yellow internal IDE HD light
on the A4000 burned steadily, but nothing further happened. The system simply
refused to boot. I removed the Micropolis from the WarpEngine's SCSI port, and
the A4000 booted fine. Eventually I found that the problem could be resolved
simply by turning on the Micropolis external SCSI HD simultaneously with
booting the A4000, i.e. turning on everything simultaneously from the master
switch of the Tripp Lite command console that I have everything plugged into.
The system has booted up fine and run O.K. ever since with no sign of a SCSI
conflict.

P.S. I have a Toshiba 3401 SCSI CDROM also in the WarpEngine's SCSI port hooked
in series to the Micropolis HD and it works fine. I just plug in a CD and it
shows up as an icon on WB.
