Dear Michael… Mondo thanks for the lengthy reply and advice. I found a lot there that was valuable in the new info and in the confirmation of my own thoughts. In regards the timecode, however, there is a solution with the SMPTE Output module that works with the AD516 from Sunrize. Bill & I made our demo tape with it, and although he has more of a handle on it, I will venture a description: we stripe the master with smpte timecode on one of the audio tracks, and then make a worktape dupe. After creating the audio mix of all our pieces using the worktape, we then lay it down onto the master, as the SMPTE Output software reads the timecode and syncs up the sound to the master. That is very likely a lame description of what it does, but it's close. The main thing I was looking for, though, was a logical procedure for the actual assembly process from beginning to end, using the equipment I have. I think for an amateur home video set-up, I have a lot going for it, and with the Little Black Box, I am hoping my final VHS dubs off of the SVHS master will be acceptable viewing.
