Hi out there anyone. I have a PC with 3DS targa files on it that are too big to save to disk and I do not have a PAR. However, I have access to a studio with an Amiga Toaster 4000 with a PAR. Any suggestions on how I can transfer the PC targa files to the Toaster? I may have access to a PC laptop to take the files into the studio. Can I hook that up to the Amiga and download them?? How?? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. JB

Hi John – I can get you started. There's a pair of programs called TwinEX which run on the Amiga and PC and use the parallel (or is it serial) port for file transfer. Be sure the Amiga's PAR can handle the file format, and you're all set. Check in AmigaUser for TwinEX. Hank Videology, Inc Where you always get P.O.M.P. and Service under all circumstances

Either scale the images down, since you won't need more than 768×482 max for Toaster/PAR output, or maybe just save them in a more compressed format like JPEG. They should fit on an 1.44MB floppy that way.

Yep sure I can help you, we have got a Pentium 100 linked to a Amiga 4000 Par Card. The other guy was correct you want Twin Express for the PC, and PAR Net software for the Amiga side of the Network. Most PD Libraries can supply you with this software and along with the cables. This will allow you to dump you Targa files straight to the the Par cards dedicated IDE drive. You will have to set the PAR card software to Targa Flip, so your animations will not play upside down. Any problems just mail me!!!!!
