Does anyone know about the rumor of LW PC price doubling in June?
If this is true, what's the story?

I hope not becuase as lw goes up 3ds and soft image are coming down!!
At present, all LW standalones are retail priced at $995. At the end of the
month, the SGI version, available from Xaos Tools only, will be priced at
$1,995. All PC versions will not be affected.

It Is true that the price of LightWave for SGI will more than dubble at the end
of May. In fact I got a call from LeeAnn at Xaos today reminding me to order
soon. As for PC this is the first I have heard.

I don't know if it was meant for the PC. I just got a call from the reseller
about a fax he received about the price. It wasn't specific about the platform.
But I am going to buy in the next two days anyway so even if the price does go
up, it won't effect me.

The story is that this is just a rumor. Probably someone is confused about the
fact that Lightwave is $995 on everything but the SGI, which XAOS Tools will be
packaging at $1995, although they are honoring orders at $995 for a limited
time. Everyone who would know how long went home hours ago, or is out doing
the kind of social stuff people are supposed to be doing at 10:00 on a friday
night in Topeka Ks. And I'm here? Oh, oh….
The $995 price for the SGI version of LightWave will be available until 6/1/95,
so buyers have a week left.
