#MultiMedia Authoring?

I use GRASP, or at least I used to when I did MM authoring. Up until a year ago I did a number of diskette presentation projects, where a self-running or interactive demonstration had to fit on one or two diskettes. Now I do broadcast video with 3DS so all the MM I have done lately has been for fun only. I liked GRASP because the animations took up far less space than a standard Animator Pro file. Although I usually included a few AniPro animations in a presentation, the simpler stuff like text was all animated with GRASP. I have just started using TempraSho (another MM authoring package) so I can play SoundBlaster files with my animations, but this is strictly for fun. MB

I've only used TempraSho a very leetle beet, but I will give you what I think so far: Price: TempraSho was given to me for free, and I paid US$150 for Grasp, so there you have it. I had to give the person a 3D Studio lesson though. Performance: I believe Grasp is faster. Features: I don't think TempraSho has any programmable capabilities, so for features Grasp wins hands down. To clarify: if I were going to do any more professional presentation work, I would use Grasp again in a second. But for just looking at flics or listening to sound or playing around, TempraSho is fun. It's also very easy as it is menu-driven. Grasp requires a little programming ability. For _very_ simple presentations (for example, to be shown in-house) that will be created by a person who has no desire/ability/keenness to program, TempraSho would do. MB

Your friendly neighborhood multimedia-type dealer should carry it, or be able to order it for you. The kind of dealer who sells sound blasters and Animator Pro should have it. I got mine from a 3D Studio dealer who also sells all that other stuff. If your 3D Studio dealer doesn't carry it, he probably knows who does. Incidentally, TempraSho is just one module of TemprPro, and I think that, technically speaking, it comes for "free" with TempraPro. In other words, you might be able to get the dealer to "loan" you TemproSho (since it's "free" anyway) so you can have a look before you buy. My dealer didn't need the program any more so he gave it to me in exchange for a 3DS lesson. Maybe you will get lucky on this too. MB
