I'm currently trying to trouble shoot a clients Flyer system and am finding that I have to pump the black levels up about 15 units and video levels another 5 units on top of that to get decent playback. In other words, if I digitize bars off tape in order to get 7.5 black and 100 unit video back out I have to run blacks at 20 and vid at 120. Its almost as if its double terminated somehow. But the old termination setup stuff is gone right? Its Flyer 4.03, amigados 3.0, vt4000 board in an A4000. Also if I don't raise the setup and try to makeclips from the digitized material as soon as I drag one of the sliders, the clip is totally corrupted. I can't believe that a properly funtioning system would require that massive a front end tweek to compensate for digitization, it makes it impossible to make any qualitative TBC decisions as you dig. One more question, are toaster inputs 3 & 4 no longer available for external signals? Thanks in advance, Mark Cretcher

Hi Mark – First thought would be to do a rerun of AutoHue and Flyer Calibrate. If he hasn't had this problem with previous releases of Flyer, then the hardware is probably okay, so check the software. You may want to do a complete reinstall, which is suggested for 4.03 software anyway. Hank Videology, Inc Where you always get P.O.M.P. and Service under all circumstances

Hi Mark I'm curious. On the output, does the Burst signal show + – 20 IRE ? Mike Mijal Westland Video Systems

Mark, First of all I have found that the third and fourth input work for flyer inputs but I dont think you can use them as live swithvcer inputs… and yes there still is terminations for inputs 1 through 4.. that screen is F10 from the switcher screen I believe. I have had no problems like that. Make sure your terminated.
